A 50-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man she hired to kill her husband will learn their fate on Wednesday when they are set to be sentenced in the Bhisho High Court.
Nomqondiso Thembu from Mdantsane hired Simphiwe Wili to kill her husband Arthur in February 2017.
Thembu wanted to cash out her husband's life insurance and pension money and offered Wili R120 000 for the hit.
Months after the murder Thembu was travelling in a taxi where she met a woman, Busiswa Nabi, who confided in her about her marital problems.
Thembu suggested to Nabi to have her husband killed to cash in on his pension.
She introduced the woman to her hitman, Wili, to conspire to kill their next victim, Ludumo Nabi.
In a twist of fate, Nabi fell in love with Wili whom she hired to kill her husband and eventually the Hawks intercepted the plot and arrested all three.
In March 2019, Nabi was given a suspended sentence and she agreed to testify for the State.
