The wife of a top Bhisho official gunned down in their East London home in 2016 has been acquitted of his murder.
East London High Court judge, Igna Stretch, on Monday found Bulelwa Ndudula not guilty of the murder of her husband, Sakhekile Ndudula, the late Chief of Staff in the Department of Social Development.
Ndudula contended that unknown gunmen had entered their Cambridge West home on 14 September 2016 and shot her husband while she was getting ready for work.
He had been shot eight times and died on the way to hospital.
During the trial the court heard of their troubled marriage and that they had been married for a second time.
In her ruling judge Stretch said that the 44-year-old had tried her best to her prove her innocence.
Ndudula’s legal counsel, Advocate Mike Maseti, said they had always contended that there was “collusion between the police and the prosecution” in depicting his client as the killer when they knew that at least two firearms were used to kill Sakhekile Ndudula.
He said, “naturally there could have been two or more people that were there to kill the deceased”.
