Well known former PE businessman in court for alleged fraud

Well-known businessman Thinus Crous has appeared in the Port Elizabeth commercial crimes court for allegedly defrauding the SA Revenue Service of millions of rands.
Crous made a brief appearance on Wednesday alongside Almero Pienaar, said to be the accountant for his construction company Ho Hup Corporation.
They face 15 counts of fraud involving more than R3.6m.
According to the charge sheet the SA Revenue Service faced further potential losses of more than R1.6m.
Crous was released on bail of R3 000 on condition that he surrender his passport while Pienaar was released on his own recognisance.
