Western Cape Transport and Public Works MEC, Bonginkosi Madikizela, will visit the Garden Route District on Monday to raise awareness of, and to assess compliance with, Covid-19 regulations in long-distance transport.
The visit forms part of the MEC's continued drive to encourage public transport operators and passengers to comply with the regulations.
Madikizela says the Garden Route is recording an increase in the numbers of Covid-19 infections and hospitalisations.
The MEC is expected to visit taxi ranks in Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, George and Mossel Bay.
