Water project to be launched in Eastern Cape Village

The Deputy Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Rejoice Mabudafhasi, will open a water project in Mhlahlane village in the Eastern Cape.

The Department says the launch of the project on Tuesday is the result of an appeal from Chief Mamu Mgwebi in 2012 for access to water for the residents of four villages in the area.

Water Affairs says the intervention included fixing of a borehole, the delivery of 43 water tanks for harvesting and reticulating water from the borehole to standpipes which will bring the water closer to the people.

The water project will deliver water to hundreds of people living in 69 households.
