Western Cape police says the are committed to delivering professional services to the community and will take a strong stand against corruption within the police force.
This follows the arrest of a policeman from the Thembalethu police station in George over the weekend.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcom Potjie says the 45-year old Warrant officer was arrested for selling 29 kilograms of dagga to a buyer in Lawaaikamp.
Potjie says police management do not condone any corruption within the force..
"We just want to re-iterate that we don't condone any corruption of police officers. We want to show our commitment to root out all corruption within our service" he said
The suspect was released on bail and is due to appear in court again in January with a possibility of facing extra charges.
