The Mossel Bay Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit has appealed to public to assist them to trace a convicted suspect, for whom a warrant of arrest has been issued by the Mossel Bay magistrates’ court late 2012.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Malcolm Pojie says extensive efforts to trace him had been unsuccessful up till now.
The wanted person, Ziyad Johardien was convicted of the rape of a minor in March 2010.
Pojie says he was arrested and brought before court where he was found guilty on two counts of rape.
He was cautioned to return to court for sentencing, but failed to do so.
