Port Elizabeth police are investigating three cases of attempted murder following two separate shooting incidents in the city's northern areas.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans, says a 35-year-old man from Windvogel was seriously injured when unknown gunmen opened fire on his car late on Monday afternoon.
"There were 6 shots fired and he got hit in the neck through the mouth and then twice in the chest, he is currently in the Livingstone Hospital receiving treatment"
Labans says in the second shooting incident , three gunmen opened fire on a 24-year-old man in Malabar Extension Six.
He says the victim managed to escape.
Labans says as the gunmen fled down the road they opened fire on another man who came out of his house. He was not hit.
