Walter Sisulu University set to resume with classes tomorrow

Classes at the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape are set to resume on Tuesday, with a revised academic calendar to make up for time lost during a 7-week strike.
University spokesperson, Angela Church...
"We opened on Monday for business and lectures will commence on Tuesday. we are re-scheduling the academic calender for this last part of the year, we will be utilising the September vacation, Saturday mornings and public holidays and then we will also push the academic project further into December. We will have sufficient days available to rescue the academic year"
Staff at the university were on strike for 7 weeks demanding a salary increase of between 8-10% , and the parties finally agreed on a 5% increase.
