Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of Culpable Homicide, after a 16-year-old boy was killed in a road accident on the Uitenhage Road near Despatch in the direction of Port Elizabeth.
Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says the teenager allegedly ran across the road opposite Joe Slovo, when he was hit by a Ford bakkie on Monday morning.
She says the 26-year-old driver of the vehicle pulled over after the collision and notified the SAPS.
Swart says the boy was declared dead at the scene.
The name of the victim will be released after his next-of-kin has been informed.
