Walter Sisulu University Administrator professor Lourens Van Staden has received a list of grievances from striking staff members.
University spokesperson Angela Church says the institution's management will discuss the contents of the memorandum on Wednesday morning.
She says a 4 hour meeting at the Butterworth campus on Tuesday deadlocked.
Workers earlier downed tools following a wage dispute with the University.
Members of the trade union Nehawu are demanding a 12% wage hike which Church says will deplete the cash-strapped university's budget.
