VWSA employee shot and wounded in hijacking

A Volkswagen SA employee was shot and wounded when his leased vehicle was hijacked in Magqabi Cresent in Kwanobuhle, in Uitenhage.

Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, said three armed men approached the 48-year-old man while he was parking his vehicle on Thursday night.

She said they demanded the keys and when the man refused he was shot in the leg.

Swart said the suspects fled in his white VW Polo.

A hijacking task team is investigating a case of hijacking and attempted murder.
