Humansdorp Police have released the names of the five victims who died in a horror accident on the N2 outside Port Elizabeth on Wednesday night.
A Nissan Livina and silver Honda collided with a truck and trailer on the stretch of road between Thornhill and Jeffrey's Bay, shortly after 8 pm.
Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says the driver of the Livina and his three passengers died on the scene as well as the driver of the Honda, who was flung out of his vehicle during impact.
The Livina victims were identified as the 51-year-old driver Marcus Jantjies, his front passenger, 48-year-old Sofilene Jantjies and the 45-year-old Celeste Afrika and 5-year-old Simonette Afrika who were seated at the back.
The victims were all related and resided in Gelvandale, Port Elizabeth
Swart says the 73-year-old driver of the Honda CRV was identified as Graham Crocker from Ben Kamma in Port Elizabeth.
It is not yet clear what had led to the accident and will form part of the police investigation.
