Police in Gqeberha have arrested two suspects moments after they robbed a 35-year-old man at knifepoint in Newton Park.
Spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says he was walking down 2nd Avenue when the suspects approached him at 5 pm.
He says the victim ran after the men after they fled in the direction of Korsten with his cell phone and money.
Beetge says a patrolling police vehicle spotted the commotion and managed to arrest them in Highfield Road.
He says a knife and screwdriver was found in the suspect's possession and the victim's cell phone later handed back to him.
The suspects aged 24 and 27 will appear at the Port Elizabeth Magistrate Court on Friday.
