Embattled Cosatu boss Zwelinzima Vavi has once more apologised for having consensual sex with a co-worker.
In a speech prepared for delivery at the biennial general meeting of teachers union Sadtu in Port Elizabeth on Friday, Vavi said he had erred.
He said in the process he had embarrassed his family and disappointed many South Africans who looked to him to provide moral leadership.
Vavi said he had come to the Sadtu meeting to personally apologise the union for letting them down.
The woman at the centre of the scandal has since withdrawn her complaint against Vavi who had revealed that she and her husband had tried to extort two million rand from him for her silence.
