The Coronavirus death toll in the Eastern Cape has risen to 285 with more deaths recorded in the Province daily.
According to the Premier's Office, as of 21 June 2020 there were 7 716 active cases of Covid19.
There are 763 Healthcare Workers employed by both the private and public sector who got the virus and 24 of them have died.
Nelson Mandela Bay Metro has 2 590 active cases with a death toll of 86.
Buffalo City Metro has 1 772 active cases with a death toll of 46.
The OR Tambo District Municipality has 1 116 active cases with a death toll of 65.
Chris Hani District Municipality has 881 active cases with a death toll of 36.
The Amathole District Municipality has 590 active cases with a death toll of 20.
The Sarah Baartman District Municipality has 396 active cases with a death toll of 21.
The Joe Gqabi District Municipality has 275 active cases with a death toll of two.
The Alfred Nzo District Municipality has 96 active cases with a death toll of one.
The two Metros in the Province, as well as the OR Tambo District and Chris Hani, are still considered hotspot areas.
