Storms River Police arrested a 41-year-old man for the murder of a teenage relative whose body was found in a plantation about 10 kilometres away on Friday.
Police said that the suspect led investigators to the spot where he buried 16-year-old Allisandre Floors.
Her family reported her missing on Monday.
"The suspect is related to the deceased and it was also confirmed that he was the person who was last seen with the teenager," said police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci.
She said he is due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.
Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Liziwe Ntshinga, commended the police for the swift arrest but condemned the incident.
