The police's public order unit has used stun grenades to disperse a group of protestors on the N-2 at Plettenberg Bay.
Police spokesperson, captain Malcolm Pojie, says a group of residents began protesting in the early hours of this morning and resumed their action after 9am.
He says residents are up in arms about service delivery issues.
Two people have been arrested.
Traffic is now being diverted to the R-340 through Wittedrift.
Traffic officials are on hand to direct motorists, who have been asked to drive with care as a section of the road is gravel.
