The National Association of Parents in School Governance says Eastern Cape learners are bearing the brunt of an administrative crisis and a teacher strike.
Association chairperson, Mahlo-mola Kekana, said today that the strikes are just an excuse and that rural and poor children are the ones who are suffering.
He says education in the Eastern Cape needed to be tackled holistically.
Teachers union Sadtu has embarked on a go-slow to force education superintendent general, Modidima Mannya, to step down.
The union has blamed him for the education crisis in the Eastern Cape.
This week Sadtu members shut down several education district offices including the head office in Zwelitsha.
