The Cacadu District Municipality has received its seventh unqualified audit from the Auditor-General.
Mayor Khunjuzwa Kekana applauded the municipality for what she describes as a tremendous achievement.
She pointed out, however, that the A-G states in his report that the performance of the District Municipality is not at the desired level, especially with regard to project implementation.
Kekana said it was clear the capacity of officials in key positions must be enhanced to enable them to implement the programmes and projects of the municipality.
She added that efforts to relocate the municipality’s head office to Kirkwood had been unsuccessful - primarily because of a lack of funding.
