Unknown man killed by train in East London

Police in East London have opened up an inquest docket following the death of an unknown man who was killed by a train.

Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Hazel Mqala says the incident happened on Friday afternoon when the man reportedly ran over the tracks.

She says police were alerted when passersby spotted the body.

Mqala says he is believed to be in his thirties but was so badly mutilated by the train that they were unable to even identify the clothes he was wearing.

Any person who might have any information on the identity of this man is asked to make contact with the East London police.
