Police in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape are urgently trying to trace the family of a man who passed away in hospital earlier this month.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the 40-year-old man, who had sustained head injuries, was taken to Livingstone Hospital on September 3.
Naidu said ambulance services picked him up near Booysens Park Community Hall in the city’s northern areas.
He passed away a week later.
Naidu said a post mortem report was still being processed.
Police have opened an inquest docket pending the results of the post mortem.
Anyone who can assist police in identifying the man or may know of the circumstances which led to his death is asked to contact SAPS Bethelsdorp.
