Port Elizabeth police have asked members of the media to recirculate the photograph of the missing 8-year-old Recolin Keagan Witbooi who went missing over 11 weeks ago.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says Recolin was last seen playing with friends outside a house in Uranus Street on the 6th of July.
The child who also lives in Uranus street, never returned home.
Naidu says at the time police conducted an extensive search in the vicinity.
The K9 unit, a police helicopter as well as members of the community joined in the search.
She says at some point it was alleged that someone spotted him begging at the robots but the child was not known or seen by anybody in the area.
Naidu thanked the public for several tip-offs they have called in over the past few weeks but urged members to rather stop and take the child to the nearest police station.
She says when people phone with a likely siting it delays their reaction time which sometimes leads to police arriving at a scene only to find no child in sight.
