The Solomon Mahlangu High School in Kwanobuhle in Uitenhage has finally been furnished with desks for all the learners, more than a year after it had been completed for occupation.
The Department of Education in the Eastern Cape started with delivering the desks on Monday.
Last week parents closed down the dilapidated school VM Kwinana School that served as the temporary home for more than a year after renovations and extensions had been completed to the old school building.
The new school had, until now, been standing empty while the Bisho Education Department haggled over the price of the furniture and transport with the service providers.
However, according to the chairperson of the SGB, Buyile Nkumande, they now need to get desks for the teachers.
