Grahamstown police are investigating a case of arson following a fire at Rhodes University's Steve Biko Student Union building.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says the cause of the fire is not yet known and will be determined after a forensic investigation.
She says the building was vacant at the time.
Rhodes University spokesperson, Lebogang Hashatse.
"The fire was discovered early this morning by the campus protection unit. There was nobody in the building. Police are now investigating" he said
