Uitenhage police on man hunt for alleged hijackers

Uitenhage police are searching for two suspects involved in a hijacking this week in which one of their alleged accomplices was shot and wounded by police.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says the drama unfolded on Tuesday night ago when three men hijacked a white VW Polo in Kwanobhule.
She says police were alerted and chased the suspects to Charles Goodyear Street where there was a shoot-out between police and the suspects.
Swart says a 22-year-old man was wounded.
Th hijacked car was found in Despatch but the remaining suspects are still at large.
