Buffalo City mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha, has handed out books to schools in all 50 wards in the Metropolitan Municipality.
The hand-over of reading and textbooks formed part of the Municipality's commitment to Nelson Mandela International Day.
Speaking at the East London City Hall on Thursday, mayor Ncitha said the struggle that needs to be waged now is for quality and equality in education for all.
She says even after Madiba's gone, his legacy will live on.
