The state says it will oppose the bail application of three people charged with the murder of a man in Central, Port Elizabeth, last week.
Twenty-six-year-old Clyde Byrns died after being stabbed in the neck when he chased after three people who had stolen his girlfriend's hand-bag in Rink Street.
The incident happened after the couple had withdrawn money from an ATM.
During Thursday's court proceedings it emerged that an identity parade could not be held because of prior publication of photos of the accused which had formed part of the charge sheet.
However, the state said that they could still proceed with the case as they have other evidence against 24-year old Angelina Job, 22-year old Donovan Swartz and 28-year old Sithembele Jonas.
Magistrate Abigail Beeton postponed the mater to the 29th of July and all three remain in custody.
