Uitenhage police commander welcomes lengthy jail sentences for convicted fellons

Eastern Cape police have welcomed the lengthy jail term imposed on a man who was convicted of raping a nine year old girl last August.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, says 26-year-old Romano Adams, was sentenced to 25 years in jail by the High Court in Port Elizabeth.
Adams had pleaded guilty to the crime.
Swart also says that a 24-year-old man was jailed for an effective 20 years on charges of murder, house-breaking and theft.
A second accused in the matter was given a 20-month sentence, suspended for five years.
Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brigadier Phillip Salukazana, has praised the police members for securing the convictions and sentences.
