Uitenhage police are investigating five cases of attempted murder following a drive-by shooting on Friday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkholi, said the incident happened on the corners of Grasvoel and Pelican Streets in Rosedale.
He said an occupant in a Toyota Sprinter opened fire on the youths who were standing on the corner, wounding all of them as they fled.
"All five victims aged between 18 and 24 were rushed to a hospital," he said.
Nkohli said the motive for the shooting is still unknown and police are appealing to the public who may have information on the incident to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Marlon Van Heerden at 082 441 7624 or 041 988 8200.
"The information may also be shared via Crime Stop 08600 10111, and callers may remain anonymous and all information will be treated strictly confidential," he said.
