Two Uitenhage men accused of brutally raping and killing a 25-year old woman have appeared in the Port Elizabeth High court for trial.
Eighteen-year-old Siphosethu Hempe and 27-year-old Loyiso Grootboom have pleaded Not guilty to murdering 25-year-old Phumeza Mbewu in October 2012.
According to the state, Mbewu who was forcefully taken to a house in Kwanobuhle where she was assaulted with a sharp object and strangled.
During court proceedings on Wednesday defence council for Hempe indicated that the accused was not informed of his rights at the time of pointing out the location of the incident.
