A Uitenhage man spent Christmas Day behind bars following his arrest for dealing in drugs.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, said that the man was arrested on Sunday night in Kamesh Road where police seized mandrax tablets worth several thousand rands.
She said the 36-year-old male suspect will appear in the Uitenhage Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on drug-related charges.
“The South African Police Service wants to encourage the community to work with the SAPS in reducing crime and are appealing to the community to provide valuable information that will lead to the confiscation of illegal firearms, drugs and the arrest of those involved,” said Swart.
