Two murder suspects are due to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate Court soon following their arrest over the weekend.
Captain Mali Govender says the two unrelated murder cases are believed to be alcohol related.
Govender says a 44 year-old man stabbed his girlfriend in the leg, fatally wounding her, following an arguement between the couple on Friday night.
On Saturday morning, a 34 year-old man stabbed his girlfriend in the leg and she also died at the scene.
The man handed himself over to police later the same day.
