Two vehicles set alight in service delivery protest in Kwadwesi

Two vehicles were set alight during a service delivery protest in Kwadwesi on Monday.

Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says angry residents took to the streets at about 4 am on Monday burning rubble on the R75.

He says members of the public order police dispersed the crowds, however, at 10.30 they set alight two vehicles in Westville informal settlement in Kwadwesi.

Captain Beetge says one of the vehicles belonged to the municipality.

The protest is believed to be about service delivery in the area.

No arrests have been made.
