Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for unknown suspects after two taxi bosses were gunned down in Mthatha.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says police were notified of the double murder on Wednesday night when a Toyota bakkie with two occupants crashed into the gate of a Bed and Breakfast in Slovo Park.
He says local residents heard several gunshots before the bakkie veered off the road.
Warrant Officer Nkohli says the men are believed to be members of a local taxi association.
They were identified as 47-year-old Masixole Gebengu and 42-year-old Dumisani Bango.
