Two house robbery suspects were arrested in Ikamvelihle in Gqeberha on Friday evening after they had the audacity to walk past the house soon after they robbed it and while police were busy at the scene.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says it is alleged that the 33-year-old complainant arrived home and while locking her vehicle in the garage, she was accosted by two unknown men who threatened her with a firearm.
She says they took her wallet, cellphone, and car and house keys before forcing her into the house.
The suspects ransacked the house and drove off with the complainant’s car.
Naidu says after a while, they returned and took more items, including four cellphones, a laptop computer, bank cards, and a TV set.
When they were later seen walking past the house, they were recognised by the victims and were subsequently arrested.
The stolen vehicle was found abandoned in a side street not far from the house on Saturday.
The stolen items have not yet been recovered.
The suspects, aged 29 and 36, are expected to appear in the New Brighton Magistrate's Court on Monday.
