Port Elizabeth police are investigating a shooting in Gelvandale which left two men dead on Monday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said members responded to the incident in Elderberry Street.
“On arrival, the body of a male approximately 40 years old was found lying on his back in front of a house. He was shot multiple times in the chest,” she said.
Naidu said the body of the second male, believed to be 42-years-old, was found inside the front left passenger seat of a white Toyota Tazz.
“He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head,” she said.
Follow up investigation at the scene led to the discovery of a 9mm Luger pistol, with no serial number, which was found inside a house near the crime scene.
“The firearm will be sent to ballistics to establish a possible link to the murders,” Naidu said.
At this stage the motive for the murders is unknown.
