The National Sea Rescue Institute at Wilderness rescued two men from the sea on Saturday afternoon, while conducting a fund raising volleyball event, and only an hour after sea rescue volunteers completed a mock sea rescue demonstration in the surf.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon says it appeared that the two swimmers struggled to negotiate a rip-current in front of the event.
He says the two men, one of them a 48-year old from Las Vegas in the USA, were rescued by NSRI volunteers.
