Two popular beaches in Knysna lose Blue Flag Status

Two Knysna beaches have lost their blue flag status.

Knysna's acting municipal manager, Johnny Douglas confirmed that the two beaches are Brenton-on-Sea and Buffels Bay.

Douglas says the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa is giving them 10 days to respond and rectify, what he calls, "a few issues".

He says all water samples were done and the results show excellent water quality.

He says he has got no doubt that their blue flags will be raised again before 16 January.
