Two perish in EC crash outside EL

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport said two people died in a two-car collision near the EL Airport on the R-72 on Friday night.

Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said two vehicles, a VW Polo and a Toyota Tazz, were travelling out of East London when the one crashed into the back of the other.

He said two people in the Toyota were killed while the driver of the Polo and a passenger were rushed to a hospital.

“A culpable homicide docket has been opened,” Binqose said.
