A case of culpable homicide is under investigation following a fatal crash that killed two people and seriously injured another on the R72 coastal road on Sunday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says the incident took place after 2.30 pm on the R72, 10kms outside Port Alfred towards Port Elizabeth.
Two persons died on the scene whilst a third was transported to hospital in a serious condition.
According to an eye witness who was travelling towards Kenton on Sea transporting students in a bus, a white Jaguar sedan travelling at a very high speed started swerving across the road.
The driver of the bus managed to avoid a head-on collision but was hit at the right rear by the Jaguar.
The witness then noticed in his rear view mirror the Jaguar colliding head-on with a Maroon Mercedes Benz.
Police have not yet released the names of the victims.
This story has since been updated after a third victim succumbed to his injuries.
