A Mossel Bay man will appear in the town's Magistrate Court on Tuesday on a charge of rape.
Members from the Mossel Bay Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit arrested the man after he allegedly raped his 14 year old step daughter on Friday evening.
The child's mother was not home at the time.
The victim, a Grade 8 learner from a Mossel Bay High School, has since been placed in a place of safety.
Meanwhile, a 15 year old Mossel Bay boy was treated in a local hospital for various injuries over his body, after his father beat him with a plastic pipe.
The 36 year old suspect was arrested on Monday morning and will appear in the local Magistrate's court on a charge of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The father and child had an argument after the teenager refused to hang clothing on the washing line.
The suspect remains in custody until his court appearance on Wednesday.
