Port Elizabeth police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of armed response officer, Rodrick Erasmus.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said they were arrested during a raid on a shack in Kobese Street in Govan Mbeki township on Monday.
She said two firearms, a 9mm pistol and Norinco pistol and a shotgun, were recovered during the arrests which came after a tip-off.
Three other suspects were also arrested for being in the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The men, are expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the formal bail application of the two men who were initially arrested for Erasmus' murder will be heard on Friday.
Unathi Adam and Sanele Blaauw made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
The two, aged 33 and 38 were arrested on New Years Day in Kwazakhele and Kwadwesi after Erasmus was killed at a shop in Greenbushes on the 27th of December.
They face charges of murder, hijacking and business robbery.
