Police in Despatch are investigating a case of culpable homicide after two people were killed in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday night.
Captain Gerda Swart says a VW Jetta and a VW Polo were travelling in opposite directions on the R368, Old Uitenhage Road at about 23:45 when they collided.
The male driver of the VW Jetta and his male passenger aged between 25 - 40 were fatally injured in the accident and a third male passenger was transported to a local hospital.
The three male occupants of the VW Polo were all admitted to hospitals in the area.
Captain Swart says the names of the victims will only be released after formal identification is done by their next-of-kin.
