The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit is hunting for the suspect or suspects who gunned down two men in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said Michael Matthews and Ettienne Minnie, were sitting and smoking outside a house in Fitchard's Street in Helenvale just before 1 am when the homeowner heard several gunshots.
"Minnie was found lying in the yard with a gunshot wound to his head, while Matthews was found lying on stairs a few houses away. He sustained multiple injuries to his head and chest," Naidu said.
She said the suspect/s are unknown at this stage and murder dockets have been opened for investigation.
"Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in tracing the suspect/s to contact the Provincial OCI, D/Sgt Mclean on 082 387 6237 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station," Naidu said.
