Police in Gqeberha are investigating a double murder following a brutal attack in Arcadia on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says police were called out to a house in Rensburg street earlier this week where they found the body of 45-year-old Denwin Syse lying outside the gate of his house.
She says he was severely assaulted by a group of unknown men who used a baseball bat, hammer and a panga.
Colonel Naidu says they only later established that there was another victim who was rushed to hospital.
Sylvester Syse succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.
Police are still trying to establish how the victims are related and also do not have the latest victim's age.
Colonel Naidu says the motive for this senseless attack is unknown and no arrests have been made.
