Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of culpable homicide following an accident on the N2, Deal Party, near the area known by locals as Smelly Creek.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the accident involved a single vehicle, an Audi A3, with two occupants.
She says police were summoned to the accident scene at about 10.40 pm on Monday.
It is suspected that speed might have caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle before it overturned.
Both the driver and his male passenger died at the scene.
The deceased was driving in the direction of Blue Water Bay when the accident occurred.
Their names will only be released once they have been identified by their next of kin.
