Police in Gqeberha are investigating a double murder following the discovery of two bodies in Greenbushes near the N2 Freeway.
Police Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says a person walking in the bushes made the discovery on Monday morning.
She says the body of an unknown man was found sitting in front of a tree with his neck tied to it, while an unknown woman was found about 5 metres away lying face down.
Both bodies were in the early stages of decomposition.
The victims are estimated to be between the ages of 20-35 years old.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says a post-mortem will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
The case is under investigation at the Kabega Park Police station.
