Two people have been killed in an alleged shooting at Rhodes University in Grahamstown.
Police spokepserson, Capt. Mali Govender says police responded immediately and on arrival found the bodies of a woman and a man inside one of the university's residences.
The incident happened at around 6 o'clock on Saturday morning.
Govender says the body of the woman, a 21-year-old Rhodes student, had no visible injuries and a post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.
She says the 34-year-old man's body had a bullet wound to the head and it is suspected that he may have shot himself.
Police have opened an inquest docket, and the identities of both deceased will be released once their next of kin have been informed.
