Two people were killed and four others were seriously injured in a head-on collision on the N2 near Dutywa on Saturday evening.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department says an Isuzu LDV with one occupant was traveling from Mthatha when it collided with an oncoming Toyota Rav 4 with five occupants.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says both male drivers died on impact.
He says the other four passengers in the SUV sustained severe injuries and were taken to Butterworth Hospital.
Binqose says alcohol could be a contributing factor as observed by eyewitnesses at the scene.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
